The Changing World Of Benjamin Gum by Bella Kemble

When Benjamin Gum finds himself forced to study throughout the summer with the less-than-fragrant Mr Wiggins, he discovers a magic eraser which comes to his rescue, allowing him to rub out all that is wrong in his world. However, the reality is far from simple, and his experiments do not always go according to plan. With the help of his enigmatic Grandma, other tools come into his possession, all with strange powers: a ruler letting him see people as they really are; an old leather satchel housing endless knowledge, and a screwdriver which can undo anything, even death. But with great power comes great responsibility and, as Grandma warns him, there will always be consequences.  Will Benjamin be willing to pay the price?
